PRETORIA, 14 April 2026 – Executive Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya has reaffirmed the City of Tshwane’s commitment to becoming a premier investment destination following an oversight visit to the InvestSA
Satellite One Stop Shop (OSS) at the Tshwane Economic Development Agency (TEDA) on Monday.
Accompanied by the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Development and Spatial Planning, Cllr Sarah Mabotsa, the Mayor engaged with private sector leaders to assess the facility’s effectiveness in streamlining large-scale investments. The visit marks a critical milestone since the facility’s launch in September last year.
“The delivery of economic development is a core responsibility of this administration. We are not merely
observers; we are enablers,” said Mayor Moya. “To the investors, we pledge the city’s full support in streamlining your entry into the market.”
TEDA Board Chairperson, Mr Paul Serote, welcomed all delegates and stakeholders to the facility. In his opening remarks, he reiterated the city leadership’s stance that Tshwane is officially open for business, emphasising TEDA’s pivotal role in ensuring that this vision is translated into tangible investment opportunities. He highlighted the fact the City of Tshwane needed to analyse shifts in the global economy and position itself especially for opportunities that arise for instance in the establishment and management of big data centres in the City of Tshwane.
During the session, two major investors presented multi-billion-rand proposals for the capital. Mayor Moya specifically lauded a new manufacturing proposal, noting that shifting from imports to local production is vital for sustainable skill transfers and industrial growth.
MMC Cllr Sarah Mabotsa highlighted that these projects align directly with the Tshwane Economic Revitalisation Strategy (TERS). “Identifying common ground between business plans and city goals is essential for driving real, lasting economic growth,” she noted.
The City of Tshwane, through TEDA and in partnership with the dtic and GGDA, continues to foster an environment where high-impact investments can thrive, ensuring the capital remains a competitive global player.
