Mr. Serote is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and Registered Auditor, as well as a seasoned business executive with extensive leadership experience across both the public and private sectors. He is the Founder and Head of Kago Solutions and Advisory, a Level 1 advisory firm specialising in Financial Management support, Real Estate advisory, interim Executive Management, and Forensic Services.
Throughout his career, Mr. Serote has held several senior leadership roles, including Head of Finance at Liberty Corporate Benefits, Financial Director at Budget Rent a Car, and Head of a Property Management Trading Entity. These roles have equipped him with extensive expertise in financial leadership, governance, institutional reform, and operational strategy at scale.
With over a decade of experience leading high level consulting assignments, Mr. Serote has provided strategic advisory services to institutions such as Eskom, the City of Tshwane, the Auditor-General of South Africa, SANRAL, the IDC, and leading university investment companies. Notably, he has led complex financial modelling, real estate portfolio optimisation, infrastructure programme advisory, and forensic investigations at national scale. He has also overseen one of the largest property portfolios in the country and remains active as a property entrepreneur in the residential and hospitality sectors.
Academically, Mr. Serote holds a B.Compt from UNISA, A Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (GIBS), a Diploma in Accounting from the University of Natal, and an M.Phil (International Business) from GIBS. He is currently completing an MSc in Real Estate at the University of Pretoria. In addition to his executive responsibilities, he serves in several non-executive board roles, contributing his expertise in audit, risk, and investment oversight.

He also pioneered one of South Africa’s earliest B2B e-commerce platforms in the early 2000s, positioning himself at the forefront of digital trade innovation during a formative period in the country’s commercial development. Jan Mocke is a qualified electronic engineer (University of Pretoria), who has completed a Masters in Business Leadership at Unisa. After working as consulting engineer, he joined the IDC for a number of years. He later spent many years in senior management positions in agricultural organisations, including Sapekoe Estates and Mount Carmel Farms.
He was also COO at the Joburg Market for seven years, after which he served on the Joburg Market Board for two terms. He also served as Board Chairman at the Joburg Market. He now works as an independent consultant on the development of fresh produce markets and agriculture projects.
He is playing an instrumental role in the design and construction of the new Mpumalanga International Fresh Produce Market, introducing various industry leading features.

After completing his LLB degree, Adv. Xulu was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 2011. With over 15 years of experience in government administration, private sector, and academic sector, I have developed a strong expertise in economic policy and research, economic modelling, data analysis and insights into systems of governance. As a Divisional Head at the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, I led a team of economists and researchers to provide strategic intelligence and advice on economic development, investment promotion, and strategic economic planning. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Pretoria, where I also lectured and published several papers on economic growth, monetary economics and political economy.
I am passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation and have supported various initiatives and projects to foster a vibrant and inclusive local economy. I am also a former President of the South African Association for Energy Economics, where I promoted the exchange of ideas and knowledge on energy issues. I am looking to make a positive impact on the economic and social well-being of communities.
