Khanya Mahlare is Executive: Marketing and Communication at Tshwane Economic Development Agency(TEDA) starting from 1 August 2013. Her business unit is structured to provide events and conference project management, branding and marketing, communication, media and public relations management. Khanya has extensive experience in local government integrated marketing services and has been part of transforming the City of Tshwane brand ( received a project management certificate award for managing the implementation of new City of Tshwane logo in the City of Tshwane Service Excellence Awards 2012). Khanya has strong relations with key stakeholders of Tshwane and has in the past driven partnerships and sponsorship for the marketing events. She has managerial, stakeholder relations, planning and budgeting skills. She has also worked with National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (NAFCOC) where she was responsible for the small business training, store lay-outs, pre-investment studies and financial planning. At the Human Sciences Research Council, she was responsible for the internship programme coordination and mentoring of interns. As a lecturer at Marapyane College of Education, she acted as academic head for Commerce and was secretary to its finance committee. Khanya has an MBA( Strategic Marketing) and a post graduate diploma in Business Management from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
